Examples of Logical Connectors

There 4 main Logical Connectors:

  • Subordinating Conjunctions- there is no change in meaning whether the clauses are mixed up, whether the independent comes first or the vice versa

Examples:

Examples:

  • Prepositions-with a noun o a noun phrase also the same as subordinating conjunctions it doesnt matter which one comes first.

Examples:

  1. He was already troubled before the math test.
  2. The main lesson was to look upon ourselves and think of all the good things.
  3. After she saw the poster she immediately went inside to inquire.
  4. Since you already are here, maybe we can already start the preparations.
  5. With rugged clothes he still presented during the debate class.

  • Transitions and Conjunctive Adverbs- separated phrases by a period or a semi-colon.

Examples:

  1. She sighed in disbelief. Even though she had high hopes she was left disappointed.
  2. The cat fell asleep; meanwhile, my legs starts to feel numb.
  3. He took all the bosss criticisms; however, the real person at fault was just laughing.
  4. They shouldnt have said mean things to him. Moreover, they should be the ones correcting his mistakes just like a good senior employee would do.
  5. The bus will arrive in 10 minutes. Therefore, that only leaves me with 30 minutes to prepare myself.

Logical connectors are mostly seen and used as connectors of different set of sentences; phrases or ideas. It is often used in sentences, and even are mistaken or was overlooked as a logical connector.

By joining one or more ideas in a phrase using the logical connectors, the sentence thus becomes much more relating and gives off more details to the situation. And making it much clearer to understand and see the full idea or picture of what is being told or described.
